Easy Apple Sauce Recipe

An apple sauce recipe is a must for every household.

Apple sauce made from fresh apples beats store bought apple sauce hands down every time.

Apple sauce is the traditional accompaniment to many roast meats and if you make a large batch it will freeze.

I recommend that you make it each time you need it from fresh apples to get the best flavor and texture.

Ingredients:

  • One pound FRESH apples
  • Sugar to taste
  • Directions:

    1. Peel core and slice the apples.
    2. Put the pieces in a small pan over a gentle heat and stir occasionally.
    3. When the apple is soft and broken up the sauce is done. If you want a smooth sauce then sieve the puree but some people prefer their apple sauce to have a rough texture.
    4. Sweeten to taste.

Extra Tip: If you sweeten this sauce it is perfect for an apple pie filling

Apple sauce is very easy to make and by making your own you avoid the preservatives and colorings that are added to commercial brands.
